Birch Beach Project

This unnamed creek, (referred to as Birch Beach Creek) is a cold-water stream which flows into Lake Superior approximately 35Km west of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The project site is located in the Township of Shuniah and flows under Birch Beach road and Hwy 11/17.

Superior Streams mapping project provides information about stream and watershed characteristics including: riverbed material, bank stability, water temperature, riparian vegetation and shade, local land use and land cover, in-stream vegetation, fish habitat and cover, and barriers to fish movement.
McIntyre River Bank Stabilization 2015

Work continues on the McIntyre river. LHNorth has finished the bank stabilization and has placed boulders in the stream to slow the force of the current and to offer some in-stream habitat.
