The consulting firm of H&E LLC provided a report that features 3 tiers of modifications which could be made to the fishway. The report suggested three tiers of changes. Tier 1 modifications would allow for the inclusion of two fish sensors within the fishway (Cell 1 and Cell 11) as well as fish fences and flashboards to ensure fish pass through the sensors. Tier 2 work would see subsurface openings (orifices) created in the internal walls to facility fish passage and to stabilize the flow hydraulics within the fishway. Tier 3 work would see flashboards attached to the internal cell walls to effectively narrow the fishway which again would improve the hydraulics of the fishway.
